Professor Henk Parmentier - Neurodevelopmental and Mental health awareness

Henk currently holds the position of Clinical Lead Integrated Urgent Care in Croydon, Clinical Lead for Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Neurology for the Croydon place Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Learning Disability Lead for the Southwest London ICB. His talk was all about Mental health awareness.

Dr David Elliman - We are not an island - Measles, Polio and Diphtheria in UK

David is a consultant in community child health with NHS England and OHID, based at Great Ormond Street for Children. He has been a consultant for a long time, previously working for Whittington Health and St George’s Hospital, Tooting. Now semi-retired, his main interests were child protection and child health promotion. Currently he works in the field of childhood screening and maintains his interest in immunisation.

Elaine Clancy - Nursing in South West London

Elaine was appointed as Chief Nursing Officer for the SWL in July 2023, and has been part of the NHS in south west London for 22 years. As CNO, Elaine has an integral role in developing plans to improve health and care services and is responsible for ensuring they become a reality for local people. She is also responsible for nursing and allied professional leadership, safeguarding, quality improvement and oversight, Continuing Health Care, Infection, Prevention and Control, as well as maternity and children’s health.

Having worked as Chief Nurse at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, Elaine has been instrumental in delivering real improvements in patient care, both at Croydon University and Purley War Memorial Hospitals and in her joint role with South West London. With over 30 years’ NHS experience, Elaine has held a number of senior nursing and managerial roles at major London teaching hospitals, as well as in community services and NHS commissioning.
